Going Green: Academy High School Earns Top State Honor!

We are thrilled to announce that our school is a Performance School! This is the highest distinction awarded to schools on the Colorado Department of Education's annual School Performance Framework!

We couldn’t be more proud of our students, staff, and families! This incredible achievement is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and heart our entire school community brings each and every day.

We're Joining the Denver Broncos Attendance Network!

Our school has been selected to participate in the Denver Broncos Attendance Network, an invitation-only, two-year partnership with the Denver Broncos Foundation, the Colorado Department of Education, and Attendance Works.

This exciting opportunity supports Colorado's Every School Day Matters campaign, a statewide effort to help more students attend school and reduce absences. 

Over the next two years, our school will benefit from:

🏈 Guidance from attendance experts to strengthen student supports

📚 New strategies and resources to encourage positive attendance habits

🤝 Collaboration with school districts across Colorado to share successful practices

While our staff will participate in professional learning and coaching, the greatest benefit is for our students and families. Together, we'll continue creating a welcoming school community where every student feels supported, and every family has the resources they need to help their child succeed.

Student Voices from Academy High School

Academy High School combines rigorous science, technology, engineering, and math learning with a close-knit culture where students feel known and supported. 

Academy’s Health Sciences career pathway offers students the chance to earn industry credentials and engage in hands-on experiences in a wide range of medical careers. Through real-world coursework and collaborative projects, students build problem-solving skills, confidence, and a sense of ownership in their learning within a community that feels like home. 

Academy High School Visits The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus

Academy High School students in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Health and Science program and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) club had an amazing visit to the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus!

The students explored cutting-edge bioengineering research and toured the state-of-the-art facilities. They also engaged in inspiring conversations with current students, learning about their journeys in the program and the fascinating research they’re involved in.

This experience not only broadened the students’ horizons beyond the classroom but also reinforced Academy High School's commitment to preparing the next generation of health and science leaders.

Tie Dye Chemistry Lab

Academy High School students in Ms. Pfaff's Chemistry class had a special groovy lab, tie-dying t-shirts and learning the chemical reasoning behind the colorful results!

For the culmination of their chemical reaction unit, students tested their chemistry knowledge by learning the history of tie-dye, evaluating the chemical reactions of fiber reactive dye molecules, and answering the root question, "what is color and how do we perceive it?"
